On the positive side, I was starting to hear a little, scattered and non-specific, about publishers having had less than stellar experiences with off-shore (primarily India) production houses. And I'd been having my best two-year period ever. But then the economy crunched. That said, I still have work coming in--layout work at the moment; and I'm talking a coupla design-and-layout projects. There is no consistency. There are page elements floating all over the place. There are 329 guides on each page. Master pages are being ignored. Styles are being ignored.
